The idea for this image was taken from Daily Telegraph photograph of a solider sitting on an office chair guarding oil fields in Kuwait during the gulf war. In this drawing I have experimented with beeswax and graphite pencil shavings to create the impression of dust clouds and burning oil field in the background. This has given my drawing much more depth and created a subtle contrast between the textured surface of the beeswax and graphite shavings and the much much refined pen and ink image of the solider.
